Frequently Asked Questions & Answers About Detailing Your Vehicle

We know you probably have a lot of questions about our detailing services, which is why we’ve provided this list of frequently asked questions for you to browse. If you have any other questions or specific concerns about your vehicle, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our certified team.

What is the rust spot on my paint? How do you remove them?

  • Typically small rust spots on vehicles, more noticeable on white, are metal particles from brake dust. Specific car detailing products such as acids, and fallout removers will help remove these metal particles. Another method for removal is a clay bar. Once the vehicle has been thoroughly washed the vehicle can be rubbed with a clay bar, with compliment product, on the painted surfaces and the clay will pick up the affected areas.

How do you remove white salt stains from my carpet?

  • The best method for removing salt stains is a 50/50 mixture of hot water and a cleaning agent. We spray the carpet and follow with a soft plastic bristle brush to further break up the hardened salt. We follow this method by vacuuming to remove excess water/cleaner on the carpet. We repeat the process until it is removed. We always make sure to dry the carpet and underlay.

What are the benefits of waxing a vehicle?

  • Wax provides a thin temporary layer of protection on your clear coat. When we wash a car it will help in removing dirt and road grim without grinding and scratching it into the clear coat of the paint. It helps fight environmental exposure such as sun, rain, bird droppings, etc. It will also help provide a better shine to your vehicle as it temporarily fills in small scratches and blemishes on your paint.

How long does wax actually last?

  • This question is asked a lot and there are a lot of factors that will determine its lifespan. Waxes have been known to last from 6 weeks up to 6 months. Some factors that can affect this include whether the car is stored in a garage, how many times the vehicle is washed (harsh soaps will easily break down wax), what type of wax (paste, liquid, spray, synthetic), and how well it was prepared. Wax is not permanent; however, there are products such as ceramic coatings that will cost a lot more and are permanent coatings.

Why does my paint have small hairline scratches or swirls all over the paint?

  • Swirls are most commonly caused by improper cleaning. Typically, when your car is dirty if it is not rinsed and pre-washed before making contact with a wash mitt you will be rubbing all the contaminants over and around your paint causing these fine marks. Another example of this can be simply wiping your car with microfiber detailing clothes while the vehicle has light dust over it. The best method to clean a vehicle before touching it is with proper chemicals, and or a pressure washer or foam cannon. The less contact made, the less likely to create swirls.
