2026 Cadillac Optiq-V

2025-05-05

Cadillac is about to spice up its electric vehicle lineup with the arrival of a V version of the Optiq SUV.

The model will feature a sportier design and performance-focused trim, but the real question is: what will be hiding under the hood? You see, for the brand’s gasoline-powered models, the letter V typically means more cylinders, larger turbochargers, or even a supercharger.

A More Dynamic Powertrain

In its standard form, the Cadillac Optiq is powered by two electric motors that deliver a combined output of 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to propel the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds—which is far from sluggish for a vehicle of this size.

Unfortunately, Cadillac has yet to reveal the technical specifications for the Optiq V, but the American automaker promises "agile and precise handling with a dynamic suspension," along with several other enhancements.

That certainly sounds promising, and the brand has a strong track record when it comes to delivering on the performance front.

Rumor has it that the Optiq V will feature a powertrain similar to the one found in the Cadillac Lyriq V. That model boasts 615 horsepower and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.3 seconds—not to mention its impressive range of up to 459 kilometers. These are remarkable figures for a performance EV, especially with a starting price under $100,000.

Coming This Summer

We’ll have to wait a few more weeks to get the full details on the new Cadillac Optiq V, as the American automaker plans to reveal the complete model in June. For now, the brand is keeping us in suspense with just two teaser images, revealing little more than the presence of V badging on the front and rear.
